Her head falls with a smack against the wooden drawer that holds the cookbooks that she would no longer need. Her eyes are open and fixed. Her mouth is slightly open, as if to say she was sorry or perhaps to profess her love for him one last time, though he may have cut those words off in the instant he murdered her. She was dead and he had killed her. He loved her. Slinking away to get back to his life with his wife and family; to put this big mistake behind him forever in hopes that the telltale heart does not cometh in the night for his conscious. We are left with body pans of Jody, dead, but perhaps still beautiful...yes, most defiantly, still beautiful.
